Goldfinch Sighted

This awesome little bird likes to spend it’s winters in the south.

They can vary in color drastically. They are almost always found in small flocks but I had a single Goldfinch show up to my hanging feeder for the first time and it did not seem to mind me at all. In fact it let me get just a few feet from him and snap some good pictures.

During breeding season the males take on a bright yellow plumage and are often referred to as the American Canary. They are often seen doing roller coaster like flight patterns while they sing pa-tato-chip.
