Tufted Titmouse Sighted

This crested little bird can be quite brave, especially for it’s size.

I usually see the Tufted Titmouse in pairs. They will fly onto my feeder, grab a few sunflowers and then fly back into the trees where they will crack the sunflowers with their powerful little beaks.

The Tufted Titmouse is gray in color with some yellow markings just below it’s wings. It can be a very loud little bird especially when it is angry. They are monogamous an breed for life. I have watched them bury seeds in the dirt only to come back an get them at a later date.

They are very brave and often not intimidated by humans at all. I have walked out and put my hand on my bird-feeder while they were feeding. They just looked at me and kept eating. As with all birds a birdbath with a fresh source of water will help attract them and keep them coming to your yard for years!
